Product Description
Desiccator jars are a must in all infrared laboratories. These jars are used for desiccating small samples, optics, cells and other applications. Complete with Bell jar, sealing ring, and polycarbonate cover. Can be evacuated or used with a rechargeable desiccant pack. Desiccant packs can be regenerated by heating them in an oven. A Polypropylene Base Plate is used to create a separate sample compartment in the jar for a desiccant pack which separates the desiccant (in the bottom) from the optics or other item above that is being kept dry.
The acrylic desiccator cabinet provides dry, dust-free see-thru storage of optics, cells and KBr powder. It has air tight doors, two (2) sliding perforated shelves, clear walls and a lower compartment for desiccant. Can be used at room temperature or at temperatures to 120F.

Versatile Humidity ProtectionDesigned for both laboratories and industrial applications, our desiccator jars and cabinets offer high-performance moisture control. Whether you need to store sensitive samples or protect instruments, their airtight construction and compatibility with various desiccants ensure a reliable, dry environment.
Flexible Design & FeaturesChoose from a variety of capacities (1 to 20 litres) and configurations. Cabinets feature adjustable stainless steel shelves and a locking system for secure storage, while select jar models offer vacuum ports for advanced moisture management. Flat or ribbed lids with silicone/gasket seals maintain an airtight interior.
Easy Maintenance & Chemical ResistanceBuilt from robust materials, our desiccator units resist chemical corrosion and are simple to clean, ensuring long-lasting performance in demanding environments. The practical design allows straightforward handling, desiccant replacement, and routine maintenance.
FAQs of Desiccator Jar & Desiccator Cabinet:
Q: How do I use a desiccator jar or cabinet to protect moisture-sensitive samples?
A: To use the desiccator, place your samples inside and add your preferred desiccant (silica gel, anhydrous calcium chloride, or molecular sieve) in the tray provided. Make sure the lid or door is firmly closed to create an airtight environment. For advanced protection, use a model with a vacuum port to evacuate air, further reducing humidity.
Q: What are the benefits of a flat or ribbed lid with a silicone/gasket seal?
A: Flat or ribbed lids with silicone or gasket seals ensure a reliable, airtight closure, which is crucial in maintaining very low humidity levels inside the jar or cabinet. This prevents moisture ingress, keeping your samples optimally protected at all times.
Q: When should I replace or refresh the desiccant in my desiccator?
A: Desiccants should be replaced or regenerated when you notice increased humidity or when the indicator (in some silica gels) changes color. Frequency depends on environmental conditions and usage, but checking the desiccant regularlyat least once a monthis recommended for best performance.
Q: Where can these desiccator jars and cabinets be used?
A: These desiccator solutions are ideal for laboratories, pharmaceutical research, electronic component storage, and industrial facilities anywhere moisture-sensitive items require protection. Their versatile design accommodates diverse storage requirements.
Q: What maintenance steps are required for desiccator jars and cabinets?
A: Regularly inspect seals, clean surfaces with mild detergent, and ensure desiccant trays are free from debris. The chemical-resistant materials simplify maintenance. For cabinets, check and lubricate the lock and hinges periodically to keep them functioning smoothly.
Q: How does the humidity control feature work in the desiccator cabinet models?
A: Cabinets equipped with built-in dehumidifiers and hygrometers can monitor and maintain relative humidity as low as 20% RH. Just set your desired level, and the unit will automatically regulate the internal atmosphere, ensuring consistent and accurate humidity control.
