Product Description

205 Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer

The Buck 205 is our entry model AAS which shares the same exact components of the 210VGP.  We have removed the D2 Background correction, and three lamp turret to save money.  Many Customers with low dissolved solids in their samples use the 205 with great success. The 205 is very popular with educators, since it is designed to be low maintenance and affordable.

Advanced Double Beam Optical System

Enhance your analytical precision with the double beam optical system, which includes automatic focusing for optimal light path alignment. This design significantly reduces baseline drift and compensates for lamp intensity fluctuations, ensuring stable and accurate absorption readings throughout each analysis.

Automatic Lamp Handling and Wide Wavelength Range

The 205 model streamlines your workflow with automatic lamp selection facilitated by an eight-lamp turret. It covers a comprehensive wavelength range (190900 nm) and provides high wavelength accuracy, enabling the detection of a broad spectrum of elements essential in research and quality control.

Superior Safety and User-Friendly Operation

This spectrophotometer prioritizes operator safety with features like a gas leak detector, over-temperature protection, and burner head safety interlock. Automated flame control and simple calibration further enhance usability, while its robust construction ensures long-term reliability in demanding laboratory environments.

FAQs of 205 Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer:

Q: How does the automatic focusing system improve analysis with the 205 Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer?

A: The automatic focusing system optimally aligns the light beam, minimizing manual adjustments and ensuring consistent accuracy. This feature helps maintain reproducible results by reducing errors caused by misalignment, making it easier for users to obtain reliable analytical data.

Q: What types of samples and analyses can be performed with this spectrophotometer?

A: The 205 model is well-suited for laboratory, research, and industrial quality control applications, particularly for analyzing metals and minerals. It accommodates both single-element and multielement analysis, making it versatile for a variety of elemental determinations in solutions.

Q: When should I use the different flame types supported by the spectrophotometer?

A: Use the Air/Acetylene flame for routine element analysis with moderate sensitivity, while the Nitrous oxide/Acetylene flame is ideal for elements requiring higher atomization temperatures or analyses that involve refractory metals. The choice depends on specific sample types and detection requirements.

Q: Where can this instrument be installed within a laboratory setting?

A: The compact design (1000 mm 550 mm 450 mm) allows for installation on a sturdy laboratory bench. Ensure the location is close to a proper power source (220 V AC), has access to an oil-free air compressor (10 L/min), and conforms to laboratory safety standards.

Q: What is the process for routine calibration and lamp optimization?

A: Calibration is straightforward using the built-in digital display and automatic lamp switching system. The spectrophotometers lamp current display enables precise optimization of lamp performance, ensuring accurate measurements and simplified routine maintenance.

Q: How does the instrument ensure user safety during operation?

A: Integrated safety features such as a gas leak detector, over-temperature protection, and a burner head safety interlock protect users from potential hazards. These safeguards automatically monitor operational conditions and intervene if abnormal situations arise.

Q: What benefits does the built-in printer and connectivity offer for data management?

A: Seamless data output via the built-in printer and USB/RS232 interfaces allows for quick documentation and transfer of analytical results, supporting efficient workflow integration and reliable record-keeping for quality control and compliance needs.
