Modular Tank System for Polyacrylamide GelElectrophoresis and BlottingEco-Maxi Electrophoresis System
Eco-Maxi comes with glass plates with 21 cm width and 20 cm length. Eco-Maxi isalso compatible for Maxigel glass plates. For electrophoretic separation undercontrolled temperature conditions the use of the EBC buffer tank with coolingoption (integrated water circulation system) is recommended. The problem ofsmiling effects and ineffi cient protein resolution due to the heat developmentin larger gels is reliable avoided. The buffer chambers EB (without coolingoption) and EBC (with cooling option) are compatible with the Blot Module forTankblot Eco-Maxi. For tank blotting, the use of buffer tank EBC withintegrated cooling option is recommended. When using the buffer tank EB withoutcooling option, the transfer should be performed in a cold room. The BigfootSafety Lid with its specially designed foot allows a space saving and safestoring of the lid when not placed on the buffer tank. According to customerrequirements a lot of special confi gurations by a large number of additionalcomponent parts are possible (i. e. analytical, preparative or microtiter platecompatible combs).
The BlotModule for Eco-Maxi is available separately and willconvert the
corresponding electrophoresis apparatus into a powerful wet-blotter.
Casting Stand for Eco-Maxi
The casting chamber allows an easy, fast and leak-proof assemblyfor 1 or 2 glass plates sandwiches.
Preliminary, for casting gels one or two glass plates sandwiches are set intothe electrophoresis module and fixed with the side clips. Because the spacersare permanently fixed to one glass plate, the often difficult adjustment oflarge spacers and glass plate is no longer necessary.
In a second step, the electrophoresis module with the glass plates sandwichesis inserted into the specially designed gel casting stand and it is fixedeasily and reliable by two eccentric vices. By the use of a unique high-techmaterial for the gasket in the casting stand and special anti-slip device of theside clips leakage proof is guaranteed. After polymerisation of the gels, thecomplete assembly of electrophoresis module and glass plate sandwiches aretaken from the casting chamber into the buffer tank for electrophoreticseparation. Specially formed slots in the side walls of the buffer tank allow arapid and safe positioning of the module.

The adjustable gel thickness (0.5 mm to 1.5 mm) and flexible sample compatibility make it suitable for both protein and DNA analysis, enhancing the throughput and versatility of your workflow.
Precision and Safety AssuredWith its platinum electrodes and a CE certification, this unit guarantees accurate results (1% voltage and current accuracy) and compliance with international safety standards. The integrated lid safety interlock prevents accidental exposure to electricity, while the robust acrylic body and polycarbonate lid offer durability and operator protection throughout the electrophoresis process.
Designed for Ease of Use and SustainabilityThe Eco-maxi model is crafted with eco-friendly materials while maintaining optimal performance. External cooling options prevent overheating, and the analog display ensures straightforward monitoring. Manual operation and simple assembly/disassembly processes further streamline daily lab use, making the system accessible to all experience levels.
FAQ's of Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis National Eco-maxi:
Q: How is the Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis National Eco-maxi system used for protein and DNA separation?
A: The Eco-maxi system supports separation of proteins and DNA through PAGE, SDS-PAGE, and Native PAGE methods. Users prepare gels (0.5-1.5 mm thick) using the gel casting racks and combs, load their samples, fill the buffer chamber (1.5-3.5 L), and apply voltage. The samples then migrate based on their size, allowing for precise analysis.
Q: What benefits does the ECO-MAXI provide for high-throughput research?
A: This system is capable of running up to 100 samples per session and multiple large gels, significantly boosting productivity. Its maxi format, accuracy, and external cooling provision allow researchers to handle high-volume experiments without compromising data quality or instrument safety.
Q: When should external cooling be used with the Eco-maxi electrophoresis cell?
A: External cooling is recommended during long runs or when working at higher voltages or temperatures (up to 60C), as it helps maintain buffer temperature and prevents heat-induced sample degradation, ensuring consistent separation and reproducible results.
Q: Where can the Eco-maxi electrophoresis unit be installed and used?
A: Designed for versatility, the Eco-maxi system is suitable for research laboratories in educational institutions, biotechnology industries, and diagnostic centers. Its moderate footprint (200mm x 400mm x 300mm) fits most standard lab benches.
Q: What safety features are incorporated in this electrophoresis system?
A: The Eco-maxi model is equipped with a lid safety interlock, which prevents access to the electrodes while the unit is powered. Its construction from durable acrylic and polycarbonate further ensures electrical insulation, and the system is CE-certified for compliance with rigorous safety standards.
Q: How does the system accommodate different experimental requirements?
A: With adjustable gel thickness (0.5 mm to 1.5 mm), compatibility with up to 100 samples per run, and a wide measurement range (proteins: 10-250 kDa; DNA: 20-20,000 bp), the ECO-MAXI adapts easily to diverse experimental protocols and sample types.
Q: What are the core components included with the Eco-maxi system?
A: The package includes the main electrophoresis cell, platinum electrode assembly, gel casting racks, combs, an analog display, and a polycarbonate safety lid. These facilitate complete setup and efficient operation for protein and DNA separation tasks.
