Information
An accurate and versatile viscometry instrument, suitable for absolute viscosity measurement of various transparent fluids such as lacquers, resins, oils, foods, cosmetics, chemicals etc. as well as gas products. The test method consists of timing the travel of a ball in a tube filled with the product sample. The integrated water jacket, when connected to external circulating bath (optional, see p.15), allows temperature control from -20 to +120C for high accuracy determinations.
Robust Design for Reliable ResultsConstructed with a sturdy metal frame and borosilicate glass capillary, the Hoppler Viscometer is engineered for longevity. Its table top vertical mount configuration allows for stable placement and easy handling in laboratory environments.
Precision and Accuracy Built-InFactory calibration with a certificate ensures measurement accuracy within 1% of reading. Digital stopwatch integration enhances timekeeping, and core components like the temperature jacket and ball set facilitate consistent sample analysis.
Comprehensive Package for Laboratory UseThe viscometer kit includes all essential accessories: main instrument, ball set, glass capillary tube, temperature control jacket, manual, and stopwatch. This complete package supports precise viscosity testing for samples up to 500 ml, suitable for volumes as low as 250 ml.
FAQs of Hoppler Viscometer:
Q: How is the measurement process carried out using the Hoppler Viscometer?
A: The measurement involves placing the sample in the glass capillary, inserting a selected ball (stainless steel, glass, or aluminium), and timing its descent with the included digital stopwatch. Viscosity is calculated based on the balls falling time, providing highly precise results.
Q: What benefits does the factory calibration and certificate provide?
A: Factory calibration ensures the viscometer delivers accurate readings within 1% tolerance. The included calibration certificate gives users confidence in measurement reliability and simplifies regulatory compliance in laboratory processes.
Q: When should I use Hoppler Viscometer for viscosity measurement?
A: This instrument is ideal for laboratory viscosity testing within the range of 1 to 1000 mPas and temperatures from 0C to 100C. It is suitable during research, quality control, and industrial formulation stages.
Q: Where can the Hoppler Viscometer be installed and operated?
A: The viscometer is intended for table top vertical mounting in laboratories with an operating environment of 15C to 35C and humidity below 80%. Its compact dimensions (300 mm x 120 mm x 450 mm) allow for convenient placement on standard lab benches.
Q: What is the minimum sample volume required and why?
A: A minimum of 250 ml is required to ensure the ball can descend accurately through the fluid, allowing for precise viscosity calculation according to the DIN 53015 standard.
Q: Can the Hoppler Viscometer handle high-temperature measurements?
A: Yes, the viscometer is equipped with a temperature control jacket and is designed to measure fluids at temperatures up to 100C, ensuring reliable operation across a wide thermal range.
Q: What advantages does manual operation offer with this viscometer?
A: Manual operation provides users full control over the viscosity measurement process, allowing for repeatable, tailored experiments. It also minimizes maintenance and calibration complexity, making it highly user-friendly.
