Product Description
NATIONALL has brought back the 3M® card, which we manufacture under a license from Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company. Polyethylene IR sample cards provide inexpensive disposable sample subsrates for qualitative analysis. The 2" x 4" cards mount vertically in the universal slide mount in any spectrophotometer. The cards have two clear apertures of 19mm and space is provided to write on the card to identify the date of the analysis, the sample and the name of the analyst. The cards are sold in packages of 10, 25 and 50 and are also available with one sample substrate.
Polyethylene cards exhibit absorbance bands in the 4400 to 400 CM-1 spectral range.

Superior Chemical ResistanceThe polyethylene sample cards are engineered for resilience, offering strong resistance to acids, bases, water, and most organic solvents. This chemical stability ensures reliable sample analysis and preserves the integrity of both the sample and equipment during FTIR and IR spectroscopy.
Versatile Mounting & UsageWith a film size per substrate of approximately 20 mm x 20 mm and overall dimensions of 47 mm x 25 mm x 0.5 mm, these cards accommodate a range of sample types. Compatible with standard FTIR/IR card holders, they support manual processes for effective mounting in transmission FTIR and IR applications.
Convenient, Hygienic DisposalDesigned for either single use or limited reuse, these sample cards help reduce cross-contamination risks. The disposable feature streamlines workflow, while the PE film windows ensure high-quality spectral results without sacrificing convenience or cleanliness.
FAQs of Polyethylene FTIR & IR Sample Cards with Two Sample Substrates:
Q: How do you use Polyethylene FTIR & IR Sample Cards in spectroscopy analysis?
A: To use these cards, simply mount your sample between the two polyethylene film substrates and insert the card into a standard FTIR/IR card holder. The design supports easy manual handling and is suitable for transmission FTIR and IR spectroscopy measurements.
Q: What are the benefits of using polyethylene film substrates for sample mounting?
A: Polyethylene film substrates provide excellent chemical resistance, optical clarity, and minimal interference in IR spectra. Their transparency and durability enhance the reliability of your measurements, helping to obtain clear, accurate spectral data.
Q: When should these sample cards be replaced or disposed of?
A: These cards are intended for single use or limited reuse, depending on the chemical exposure and contamination risk. Replace or dispose of the card if you detect residue buildup, damage, or compromised transparency to maintain accurate results.
Q: Where can Polyethylene FTIR & IR Sample Cards be sourced in India?
A: These sample cards are available from various exporters, importers, manufacturers, suppliers, and traders throughout India. Many laboratory supply companies stock and distribute them for FTIR and IR spectroscopy applications.
Q: What process should be followed to mount samples onto the card?
A: Prepare your sample according to your analytical requirements, then place it between the two polyethylene film substrates of the sample card. Securely position the card in the designated holder to ensure stable alignment within the spectrometer.
Q: What is the chemical resistance profile of these sample cards?
A: The cards are highly resistant to acids, bases, water, and most organic solvents, making them suitable for a wide variety of sample types encountered in laboratory environments.
