पेन क्यू मार्ट एन एस फ्लैश प्वाइंट ऐप आर एटस एक उपकरण है जिसका उपयोग एक ज्वलनशील तरल के फ्लैश बिंदु को निर्धारित करने के लिए किया जाता है । इसका उपयोग तरल पदार्थों के स्वतः - प्रज्वलन तापमान को मापकर उनकी फ़्लेम क्षमता का आकलन करने के लिए किया जाता है । उपकरण में एक परीक्षण कप और एक हीटिंग उपकरण होता है , आमतौर पर एक विद्युत ताप तत्व , जिसका उपयोग तरल नमूने वाले परीक्षण कप को गर्म करने के लिए किया जाता है । तरल नमूने के वाष्पीकरण को रोकने और यह सुनिश्चित करने के लिए कि तापमान स्थिर बना रहे , परीक्षण कप को ढक्कन के साथ बंद कर दिया जाता है । जैसे - जैसे तापमान बढ़ता है , फ़्लैश बिंदु तब पहुँच जाता है जब तरल वाष्पीकृत हो जाता है और एक चिंगारी निकलती है । फ़्लैश बिंदु रिकॉर्ड किया जाता है और फिर उपकरण बंद कर दिया जाता है ।
